The questions that keep coming up

These are the ones I get most often. If yours is not here, the form above reaches me directly.

01

I have never managed anyone before. Am I too early for this?

No. Early is the easiest time to build habits, because you have not yet had to undo anything. Most people who work with me are somewhere in their first year.

02

How is this different from reading a management book?

A book gives you the general case. Coaching starts from the conversation you are dreading on Thursday. The work is applying one idea to your actual team, out loud, until it fits.

03

My company will not pay for it. Is there a cheaper way in?

Yes. The First 90 Days Playbook is free, and the signature course is self paced. Group coaching sits in between if you want other people in the room.

04

I manage a remote team. Does that change the advice?

It changes the delivery, not the substance. Remote makes unclear expectations more expensive, so we spend more time writing things down and less time relying on hallway correction.

05

What if the real problem is my own manager?

Then that is what we work on. Managing upward is part of the job, and it is the topic people bring most often once they trust the room.

Still not sure it is a fit? Read a bit more about how I work, then send a note.
